  1. only one in every 100,000! skydiving is the coolest ever! if you are thinking about it, you should totally do it.

  2. there are 31000 members of the United States Parachute Association. Theses skydivers make about 2.5 million jumps every year and there are about 0.5 million tandem jumps made every year as well.  Out of the 3 million jumps there are about 30 deaths.  and 70% of these could be avoided as they are the result of someone trying to do a stunt under canopy that they do not have the skills to perform.

you can get more details and information about safety and skydiving in general from:

    www.uspa.org

  3. depends on how and whom folded your parachute, what type of plane, and so on.  landing is about 20-30 mph, so there is a problem with leg and ankle sprains and fractures, as well as wrist injury when falling to the ground.  landing is like jumping off the roof of your house.

If you do get hurt and need medical help, make up some other story rather than connecting it to skydiving as many HMOs and other insurers will cancel your coverage or refuse payment.

There was a guy that landed in the neighbor's backyard while I was out cutting the grass, whose parachute didn't open.  I can still hear every bone of his crunch.  unfortunately, I not only called 911, but it scarred me for life

  4. If you dont have any heart problems, you should be ok!
