  1. Because you are new to volleyball, your arms aren't used the digging and hitting and intense pressure on ur forearms.  It is just popped blood vessels, and it happens to everyone who has ever played volleyball.  You don't need to ice them, just let them go away on their own, and if they get progressively worse or don't go away, then seek some help, but they should be just fine!! :D

  2. I know exactly what you're talking about - i get them all the time when volleyball season starts. don't worry about it. it's from bumping - maybe the ball you were using was a little hard. they're like bruises though, they'll go away pretty fast. the more you play, the less you get of them though. don't worry! it's normal.

  3. As many have said, it's not a big deal, they will go away. However, this is where I disagree: if you are fair skinned, this will happen forever, regardless of whether you "toughen up" or not, because blood vessels are more easily visable in fair skinned people. If there is pain from these bumps, I would recommend that you ice them.

  4. no worries.  its just what generally comes with the game.  your arms will toughn up after a wile

  5. Heres a hint: It has nothing to do w/ Volleyball! Its Called Personal Hygene!! Try it out sometime!! Forearms can get red when begining to play the game... but brownish red speckles sound like some type of STD... get it checked out ASAP!

  6. See your trainer. No need to ice them unless there's pain or swelling i believe. It might be just broken little blood vessels.

  7. It is normal when you start a season. Don't worry about it... and don't even mention it to your coach.
