Wht does RAC 22 mean?

rac is reservation against cancellation. when u r in rac list say 22  u will get confirm birth after 22 tickets r cancelled. otherwise u will get a sitting place.

RAC means Reservation against cancellation.  While you have been allotted seat under RAC, no birth is allotted to you. If there is any cancellation of birth, first preference will be given to RAC ticket holders according to RAC Numbers. Wait listed passengers will get allotment only after all RAC ticket holders are allotted.

In case of RAC, 2 seats at  the side are given.

RAC( Reservation against cancellation) status means your berth is will be confirmed against some cancellations ( if any) . Your berth is shared with some one else and you get a place to sit. In  most of the cases an RAC is confirmed in to a birth .

rac means reservation against cancilation, in railway, you can get a seat only but you wont get berth, but if, any cancilations are there they will give you berth , it can be known to you 4 hours  before departure of the train.
