  1. A university is a group of colleges.

  2. university includes all the programs associated with the name , like example harvard UNIVERSITY includes the entire harvard program, undergrad, med school, divinity school, law school, faculty etc - EVERYTHING harvard

the college is simply the undergraduate program.

Alternatively, the 4-year educational program students begin after graduating high school is called "College" in America and "University" in Europe

    hope this helps!

  3. Nothing I could think of .. unless of course you're in Canada where Universities claim to teach more theory and less practical knowledge whereas the college counterparts are the total opposite. Secondly, the tuition fees for universities are usually absurdly higher than college tuition fees. Those differences seem to be diminishing over the years as employers demands change. More and more colleges are now offering advanced diplomas (somewhat like an associate degree) and even full bachelors degrees in some fields of study.

  4. In the United Kingdom a University (or University College) has degree-awarding powers. That is, it can award degrees in its own name.

To be called a University, an institute must get an order from the Privy Council allowing it to be so-titled.

Any educational institute can be called a college
