Its ususally to seperate classes with two different teachers.  The best way to answer this question is to ask the school.  I worked in a preschool for five years.  I was the unfortunate teacher who had class B.  No parent wanted their child in this class because they thaught A was better than B because it was first in the alphabet.  We had to change the name becuase of this situation.  More than likely A and B are just names to keep the rooms seperated.

Preschools and some kindergartens have half-day classes, so the morning group would be  "Mrs. Doe's" Class A and the afternoon group would be "Mrs. Doe's" Class B.  This is a way to differentiate between "Mrs. Doe's" two classes.

It means they have too many registered children in that grade,   There is usually a limit to how many children may be in one classroom.  For example if there are 30 children registered they divide the same class so that there are 15 in each one.

Preschoolers do need more individual attention.
