  1. Ebay will probably have those clothes, or maybe you can switch it up and wear housewife gear, like wear a dress like Lucy wears in I Love Lucy!

  2. I really like that idea of a 'Lucy' style dress.

But, you might also consider the oxford shirt and slim leg jeans with the hems rolled up.  Add a filmy scarf around the neck or around your pony tail.  Put on some Keds style tennis shoes, and you're ready to go.

This is cheap and fairly easy to come by.

Check out some thrift stores if you need a nice white button down shirt and a scarf.

Wear a smile and your dressed for anything!

As far as a circle skirt (which I've always been rather fond of), They are easy to sew and if you use a heavy felt, they don't need hemmed.  But if you don't sew, go with the jeans and just have fun with playing around with hairstyles and makeup ideas for the era.

  3. A long skirt like, past your knees, and big hair bows.

  4. You might try the Goodwill store, sometimes they have things like that.  Or just find a pair of straight leg jeans and roll up the ends.  We used to wear capri pants, but we called them pedal pushers.  Do you have a sweater that buttons down the front?  Put it on backwards, so it buttons down the back.  Wear white socks and roll them down to your ankles.  Find some plain white canvas sneakers (we didn't have athletic shoes then) or some penny loafers.  Put your hair in a pony tail.  Wear red lipstick.   VOILA !

  5. Look at salvation army and similar stores that accept donated clothing.  People donate old things often, and the items are sold for very little money.

You might find a good skirt that you can modify, adding your own poodle to it...

  6. poodle skirt and a white shirt! with a scarf tied around your pony tail that matches your skirt and saddle shoes! or if you want an easy outfit that you probably don't have to buy cuff up your jeans wear a white blouse and tie it in the fount! and wear a scarf in your hair and keds in a solid color! good luck 50's dances are fun!
