Why, How, and When will the world end?

A lot of people probably ask this... but I want to know.

I think the coolest thing were if the planet would be swallowed by a black hole created in CERN. (Not likely, true, but definitely the coolest way to go.)

why i dont know,how is that there is a comet coming to earth that is 100 times bigger than earth so when it reaches the earth i will destroy it in a million pieces when is 2012 and how we know about this is cuz of mayin calinder its basicly a calinder but it ends in 2012 so they say that it will be the end of the earth and america found THE LOST BOOK  OF SECRETS that book predicts that the earth will end in 2012

and it predicted a lot of other things too and they ALL came true the book even tell that when will it be found and even that came true so i hope that dosent come true or the last day of the earth isnt far which is december 21,2012

As far as the earth ending (not being uninhabitable but actually being destroyed) the most likely scenario is when our sun goes nova.  It most like happen for millions of years as predicted by scientists if it does at all.

they say it well end because of global warming and all the ice in alaska well be melted and the whole world will be flooded.

well there are many ways. the sun is a giant star. it is suppost to black out (die) then vegatation (plant life) will stop growing because it needs light. if there is not plants people will die because or poor nutristion so then they will die. pollution can end the world to because there will be no oxeng so then we cant breath. another reason is the polar ice caps will melt and then the earth will flood. expect for alberta, saskatchewan and british columbia. the reason thoes provinces wont flood is because the way nabove sea level. there are many other reasons the world could ensd such as volcano ice age could happen again.

The world will end in about 4 billion years because the sun will run out of Hydrogen to fuse in it's core and will expand to a red giant.  It will engulf at least Mercury and Venus, and possibly Earth.  Even if it doesn't engulf the Earth, it will incinerate everything on the surface.

have to agree with metallica.at this rate of pollution ,and people are just realizing whats happening ,its just a matter of time.society and politics has already become unstable.....

it doesnt matter when the sun explodes anymore.its when we're gonna stop killing ourselves.i'm afraid its just too late.weve already adapted to the way we're curently living.it will take centuries to change.and that we dont have.

not sure but probably when the atmosphere becomes too poisonous for us to breathe because of CO2.

or when everyone dies of cancer because of the destruction of the ozone layer.

or because of a nuclear holocaust...hey it could happen.

basically when we kill ourselves...

The good part is pollution levels are dropping daily due to green energy by Solar and Wind, and although the sun is set to destroy us in 4 billion years, NASA has a plan to move an asteroid into our gravitational pull which will send us further away from the sun far enough to not be harmed by the suns death, however if it goes ahead, it will happen in a couple-few centuries.

The bad part is humanity is lazy, and if we cant be bothered with green energy and saving humanity, we never will and the world will end very soon, however I doubt this :).
