Why, In Cartoons, Do peoples faces turn green when they are sick?

I know it's a dumb question, but why IS green affiliated with sickness. Why not purple, orange, or yellow?

Sorry, i don't usually use this section, I'm usually in R&S...

Why you're sick what color do you feel? Most of us go pale, doing that in a cartoon would make them look like ghosts.

I heard that scientifically, green is a color that human skin can never achieve through "natural means." Bruises on the skin can be black and blue.  Swelling can be red and orange.  But nothing gets you green.
