  1. Its Republicans who are in favour of pork spending.

  2. Telling the full story would go against the plan of the major parrot press organizations.  Sort of like not spreading the word about Mr. Obama's brother in Africa who lives on $1/month.

  3. Socialist, liberal Democrats, starting with Hoover, invented the pork barrel, and now live in it.

If pork barrel politics were eliminated, at least three-fourths of the deficit would be eliminated. And socialist "liberalism" is responsible for at least two- thirds of the pork barrel. IOW, liberals account for over half of the national deficit, through their pork barrel projects.

  4. Not very many bills lack pork.  McCain seems to vote for them...He really does have a poor track record when it comes to actually doing things for our service members.  He seems to have no problem voting for the 'Military' bills that primarily benefit the Military contractors like Lockheed, halliburton etc.  He certainly has thrown the POW/MIA folks under the bus.

  5. Please, tell us about all the pork that was attached?  What exactly was attached?  Please also tell us why you think McCain chose to not vote for this pork when he has in fact voted for pork in the past?  Why do I have the feeling that you don't have a clue about what was included in the bill and instead you are rehashing some talking head's talking points?

McCain criticized the benefits awarded GI's in the bill as excessive.  Are you forgetting about that purposely or are you just uninformed?  Isn't that the real reason he failed to show up to vote for it and isn't the 'pork' excuse a lame deflection?  I think so.

The bill was authored by veterans Chuck Hagel, a Republican and Jim Webb, a Democrat and strongly supported by former Secretary of the Navy and Republican Senator John Warner.  McCain's real problem with the bill was that he bought the Pentagon's line that it was too expensive and would entice people to leave the military to take advantage of the benefits!  Imagine that, they might use the benefits!  John Warner said that was a lot of hokum and that the benefits were a 'big piece of cheese' that would entice people to enlist.  He, of course, is correct.  McCain had proposed an amendment to the bill to make the benefits less generous and when that was rejected, THAT is when he decided to not vote for it.

McCain was wrong and then attended a fundraiser instead of voting up or down on it.  Very honorable indeed.

  6. There will always be pork.  You can not be so young and or ignorant not to know that fact, now can you?

  7. It is pretty funny the way libs try to portray McCain as anti veteran, it never works, A lot of good bills are ruined with pork and amendments and should not be passed until they are cleaned up.

  8. Oy vey... and he gets $52,000 per year in military disability benefits.  Unconscionable.

  9. half truths play better to the gullible left.

  10. There is always pork attached to any bill.  McCain also said that the benefits were excessive and would encourage our military to leave the service so as to collect the benefits.  Sound like pork to you?

  11. Oh please....while I agree pork spending sucks McCain has voted YES for many things that do contain pork...so that's a pretty lame argument as to why he doesn't vote yes for veteran issues.

  12. They are trying to imitate one of their heroes Micheal Moore. You know . tell only half the story, and if its misleading that way so much the better.

  13. Typical of the liberal Democrats. They know they can mislead their ill informed voters.

  14. Yes, intentionally misleading.  It's a typical liberal ploy.

  15. Because they want to mislead voters away from the issues that McCain brings up like useless spending.
