Why, in those magazines like gamepro and gameinformer, do they never have any girls in there?

I mean there are no girls int he staff.

There are no girl gamers of the month

There are no girls at all!

and yes, I have looked at gamegirl.com that is a bunch of sisy games.

And yes, i know that only 1 in 5 gamers are girls

but why? why do they think girls can't play? why don't they ever let the girls have a big part or even a small part in those magazines?

It sounds like you have only looked at these two magazines. I personally know there are a few girl gamers on the staff of the Official Xbox magazine.

While some magazines may have no girls on the staff, you need to keep in mind that there are always exceptions to the rule; you cannot make hasty generalizations.

As a girl gamer myself, I have seen the rise in the amount of girls playing video games, especially on Xbox Live and the Gamertagpics website.

Girls playing video games, while it is prevalent today, is still a fairly new concept for many male gamers. Accusing the magazines of not hiring female staff is a false accusation. Any business, regardless of the size, cannot base a decision of whether to hire someone on his or her race, ethnicity, gender, etc. The staff cannot and would not consider not letting a women have a part in the magazine, unless it wants to be sued.

Instead of pointing fingers at these magazines, maybe you should be more concerned with the other reasons for women not being a part of gaming magazines. Are they too intimidated to interview with these magazines? Are the women knowlegeable enough about videogames to contribute material? And so on, and so forth. Multiple reasons are taking play when it comes to the amount of women in the gaming magazine industry.

I have read numerous gaming articles by women, either online or in magazines; I have enjoyed every one of them. I believe we will see more and more women taking more jobs in the gaming industry in the future.

For now, just enjoy being a part of a growing group of female gamers and keep a look out for opportunities to prove those ignorant boys wrong ;)
