  1. they have a good life in France. Who wouldn't want to live in France....?

  2. Why leave a beautiful place like France to move to the USA ?

I can understand a French person moving to parts of Canada but nothing to be gained by moving to the USA.

Even the British are not fleeing to the USA.

  3. Could be because they go to the Quebec providence in Canada and speak french there?

  4. I've been to France, I guess some find it beautiful, I found it a dirty dump with rude people personally. Maybe they realize we won't tolerate that behavior over here, who knows.

  5. Americans are arrogant and replaced "French" with "Freedom"?  Yeah, that would make me want to come over.

Thank GOD they didnt' try that with the French Quarter.  Long Live NOLA!

  6. Actually, I'm a French Canadian, and we don't have a lot of French people immigrating to Canada either so it's not so much a language thing (we do have a lot of immigrants from French speaking African countries, however).

Normally people immigrate for either family reconnection or for work reasons.  French doesn't need to leave France for employment opportunities especially with the unified European communities.  The French in the US are "Cajun".  They are the French Canadian "Acadians" who were chased out of Canada upon the English coming in and forcing the French to flee.  Acadian children were actually taken from their parents and sent by ship on the eastern seaboard to be delivered as "children" to American farmers where they were raised as their own children on farms and assimilated into English children all along the east coast.

Although NOT slavery, it was a forced assimilation that left a bad taste (worse than normal) for the French/English relations.

In addition, during World War II, the US didn't enter until after Pearl Harbor and many European cities were bombed and rebuilt without US interference and assistance.  To this day, Canadians are celebrated on Remembrance Day as being there for their European cousins.

  7. France over the years has created a very cushy environment with government programs. They simply have too many benefits to leave.

  8. Lost of reasons really

1 they have no reason to leave since they are a 1st world nation themselves

2 They can't speak out language so thats a deterrent

3 We hate them and they know it lol and vice versa

4 We have this thing here called no smoking area's and that's like kryptonite to them.

  9. I would agree with the other answerer, Quebec would be a better choice for most French people thinking of  coming to the west because of the lack of a language barrier. One could move to the USA and get by reasonably well if they spoke Spanish only, but I don't know too many people who speak French. I've travelled to Quebec enough times that I can read French and understand it, but all bets are off if it's spoken to me, unless the speaker speaks to me very slowly.

  10. Because it is so picture perfect and beautiful there.

  11. The French immigrate proportionately in regard to their national population with every other country that immigrates to the US except Mexico which has proportionately more immigrants (legal and illegal) than any other country in the world.  Let's face it. It's a fairly tiny country.  However, with the current large population of muslims in France, the US has become more selective in allowing immigration visas from France as a matter of national security.

In my humble opinion, however, the French are currently having too much fun bullying other countries within the EU and making farmers destroy fruit and vegetables that aren't up to their standards.  They aren't making many friends.

  12. English is a very, very, very difficult language to move to from a Romantic Language.  But France is a piece of work worth looking at.  She is not doing well with her economy.. she isn't doing bad.  They are working on it.  In the meantime, France is a rather good place to live.

  13. why beacuse France has little or no crime...5 weeks manditory vacation + vacation pay ...free health care ...free auto insurance ....low taxes ... and no CNN!!

  14. Because they are still embarrassed about how we had to bail their butts out of WWII.

  15. Because the french hate americans they think we are pushy and rude.
