Why, overseas, car's driver seat is on the right side, and in America its on the left???

  1. a simple answer is this, when the colonists came to America from England. They wanted to BREAK AWAY FROM THE BRITISH throne and be independent. They created a lifestyle where everything was OPPOSITE from what the King of england or queen of england was imposing . so thus we drive on the opposite side of the road, our seats are accomodating the opposite. lots more than I can write here


  2. It has to do with the makers of wagons in the US.

    Some wagon makers started putting the brake lever on the left side so that  the teamsters strongest hand (the right hand) could be used for controlling the horses.

    Because the teamsters preferred this set up, it became standard in the states.

    The car makers copied the style (after  all they are horseless carriages).
