Question:

Why, when it comes to abortion - it's the woman's right to choose for her body - but not with prostitution?

First off - I'm not Pro this or Anti that . . . I'm just curious as to the opinion of women who want the freedom of choices for their bodies; and are they as fervent a fighter for women to use their bodies for other things as they might see fit?

  1. The Bible will tell you both are wrong.

When you have a right you have a responsibility.

    It's a tough life.

  2. It is not to choose for her body but she is carrying another living baby having the potential to be the world's most clever & wonderful creature.

Our bodies belong to God , as well as what we carry inside it ,, so you cant go against Him

  3. Choice is when a woman can choose whether or not to have an abortion and whether or not to become a prostitute. No one forces a woman to do either one.

  4. I would say that both are her right to choose.

For one she is paying a doctor.  For one she is getting paid.  Both are demoralizing.  It seems that a woman can pay someone to do things to her body, but not be paid to allow someone to do things to her body.  One is beneficial to her and one is simply degrading.  They are in that way hardly comparable.

Perhaps prostitutes should set up a fake camera and change me to "try out" to be p**n stars, and charge for that.  Maybe it's just a matter of labeling.

BTW the Bible NEVER mentions abortion.  Maybe people should READ it if they are going to quote it instead of taking some preacher's word for it.  Or maybe the just can't read the big words.

  5. With the exception of Clark County (where Vegas and Laughlin are) the entire state of Nevada allows prostitution.  If one wants to make a living in prostitution, why not move there and do it legally.

  6. If the woman or man is willingly going into protistution that is fine. BUT a lot of prositues are male and female CHILDREN and also adults who are being foreced into it. That is where it's wrong, and I think by legalising it they would make it safer.

  7. Just like non-feminists and anti-feminists; feminists have different views on both abortion and prostitution. I think I can be safe in saying that the majority of feminists are pro-choice but not all. As far as prostitution goes-even there-when the feminist "s*x wars" occurred-many more feminists were on the side of women having the freedom to choose how to express their sexuality-whether it was through p**n or prostitution-as long as the women choose it (vs being in sexual slavery or coerced using violence against them).

But yes it is a difficult subject but ultimately many feminists and non-feminists respect other women's right to make their own choices about their bodies. Would I choose it myself? No-but I don't feel I have the right to "protect" a man or woman from themselves-just like I'm don't feel I have a right to "protect" people from drugs or alcohol. I think you're more likely to find non-feminists and religious anti-feminists expressing disgust for prostitution and/or p**n than the majority of feminists. I don't see it as a moral issue-I primarily worry about violence.

  8. When the government outlaws abortion, women will no longer be free.

  9. The problem with prostitution isn't what the woman chooses to do with her body, it's the environment of crime that surrounds it.  Women are frequently abused, and studies have proven that over 80% of s*x workers in the US have drug problems.

If the industry were better managed (and legalization seems to help) fewer people would be against it.
