It's no secret that blacks are generally more athletically gifted than other races.  Moreover, African Americans whose ancestry comes from West Africa, are the descendants of slaves that were bred based on physical traits.  Couple this with the fact that basketball is extremely popular in inner cities and you have the reason why the NBA is mostly composed of blacks.  At the highest professional level, athleticism is often what separates someone from making the league or not.
