Why's early Islamic history have muslims killing muslims? Is Iraq today just a continuation of this legacy?

Buddha died and even though sects arose none of them harmed each other. Seems peaceful to me.

But in Islam, three of the first four khalifas were killed...by fellow muslims! It's one thing to kill the kuffar, but what's wrong with muslims that they kill fellow muslims? Muslims not only killed the prophet's grandson but they played with his head like a ball.

What's with these people?

And her question is islamic based anyway. unlike most the people who just are ex muslims or non muslims and spread hate -...just becuase its ramadan section doesnt mean its all about ramadan...ramadan only comes once a year so how wud we fill it up?...its not like she can ask in religion and spirituality not many people go there and its not like she can go to somewhere like the yom kippor section is it??

Dude you really are confused. Let me help a little.

You treat all religions the same and take them lightly. This is proof of Islam's truth. Everything that the hadith's said will happen did happen. God told us that he will test Muhammad PBU's nation by tribulations. Only the truly sincere will stick to the prophet Muhammad PBUH's example (Sunnah). Some people deviated away from the truth and there was fighting and assassinations. But the believers won and stuck to what God ordained. Also there was much brotherhood between the believers.

life is more complex than you make it appear. Everything has a reason behind it. Understand that. And dont ask such childish questions.

There is a hadith (saying of the Prophet) which says that the day of judgement will be near when people take religion lightly. I.e it is a secondary thing in their lives and they worship their desires.

Study Islam more deeply, if you are asking the question from a pious, actinng Muslim's point of the view.

Not only Muslim vs Muslim wars, but the entire wars against Kuffar etc, did not  comprise barely a tenth of the Holy Prohet's glorious era.

And as a brother has noted, just because the killers of Imam Hussain (P), and the rest of the s**+'a Imam, claimed they were Muslims does not mean they really were Muslims.
