Anyway, Ace probably left KISS because Paul and Gene were too money-hungry. They have always put the money before the music. A KISS coffin was the latest money-making scheme by them. Gimme a break!!

My guess is that he had a burst of revelation and realized that Kiss has been a pathetic, sorry, rock n roll joke for at least the past 10 years and that there's nothing sadder than 60 year old has-beens putting on the same old worn, tired clown makeup to entertain 40-somethings at state fairs.  If nothing else, the Gene Simmons reality show should have tipped him off 3 years ago.
