Question:

Why Am I Not Having My Period?

I am 19 years old. I started getting my period when I was 11. It was very regular until I was 16. I went on birth control and I stayed on it for a little over 2 years. The 4 periods I got a year were pretty normal. And then in August 2007 I stopped getting the shot. And since then I haven't gotten a period. I am planning on going to the doctor. I am now married and my husband and I want to start planning on having a child. But the problem is I don't know what kind of doctor to see or what to say is wrong with me. If anyone can help me I would reallyappreciatee it. I don't have my mother to talk to or anyone else that i am comfortable talking to about this.

  1. I would tell the doctor (An obgyn would probably be best) exactly what you said here.

Just explain the situation, ask if the birth control is the cause of you not getting your period, and how you can go about starting a family.

It's a bit scary talking to the doctor at first, but I swear it makes you feel a lot better to just get it off your chest and ask, you know?

Good luck with the family! :)

  2. go to the doctors..ur eggs probably dried up

  3. the doctor you need to see is a gyno in short, ( i don't know what it is really called) you are married at 19????? you should probably wait on having kids. all of my friends got married like in their early twenties then had kids like at 28, 29, 30. they said just to have fun for a couple of years, then make up your mind.

  4. The kind of doctor you need to see is an OB-GYN. They will be able to answer any of the *female* related questions you have.

  5. Schedule an appointment with an OB/GYN, explain your concerns regarding your missing period, and that you'd like to get pregnant sometime soon.  The doctor will examine you to determine why you're not having your period, and to evaluate your fertility.
