Question:

Why American radio keep playing same old songs for years ?

I been living in NYC since I was in HS. I have noticed that American radio keep playing same old songs for years ? Why they do that ? why they don't play some good popular song? Countries in Asia . Hong Kong and Japan always have good new songs playing on radio. . why cant America do the same ?

  1. Because Americans have a tendency to overobsess over songs to the point that they get annoying, then they go extinct, then they come back and haunt you. This is why I strongly dislike songs like "Hey There Delilah", "Home", and even "Shadow Of The Day". This is why I listen to the BBC radio 1 player on their website. It's great music and they aren't afraid to introduce new material and expire the old.


  2. cuz most radio stations are controlled by large corporations who don't care what you may like, don't wish to offer variety to mess w/ their sponsors, also controlled by large corporations who want to make sure that their message - not the music - is what really gets across.
