Is that because that is what the politicians wanted?

  1. Perhaps you may want to rephrase - Why are some Americans not involved in politics?  I am involved and cannot answer for those who choose not to.  As far as" what the politicians wanted", I am not a conspiracy theorist so I should leave that one to them.

  2. You might want to rephrase your question and ask why don't a large percentage of US citizens vote (don't forget both Canadians & Mexicans are Americans too).  And one of the reasons is sitting in the White House right now.  After the 2000 Election it's hard for me to care too.

  3. Americans are busy with baseball, TV shows, Hollywood and business.  Politics is left to those who have no choice in other endeavours.

  4. I am involved and in my experience those who are not, (or whose involvement ends at voting and or bitching), have been very disempowered which is not surprising, the indoctrination into believing that you must accept whatever **** is handed to you is strong here.

  5. Because their president remembers September 11. Or at least that's how the government manages to shut up everyone and let them do the "work."

Hold on,  I was selling out my self too. You are not talking to 100% ignorants here, Americans are everyone within the continent, according to geography and history.

  6. What is wrong with your right eye?

  7. Who says Americans are not involved in Politics...have you SEEN the news everyday here?

  8. There will always be a percentage of citizens who refuse to get involved.  But, it just works to the professional politicians advantage.

Oh, by the way the only Americans are from the United States of America, I don't see America in any other named country in this hemisphere.  Sorry Canadians and Mexicans.
