  1. No he wasn't injured, he pulled out of the French because of an injury. He was approached early in the year to play for Team USA at the Olympics and he decided to opt out of the Olympics in favor of staying and warming-up for the US Open at the tournamens in the US Open Series. Hopefully skipping the Olympics has helped him and he does well at the USO, he really wants to win another grandslam.

  2. Resting is just a BS excuse for Roddick.  The fact that all the better players are going to the Olympics, he probably assumed he would win all the other tournaments because the others are busy somewhere else....it turns out that he got beat by Del Potro.  Hahaha.  He got injured or he needs more rest, he can use whatever he wants but he's on his way down too....actually faster than Federer.

  3. Because he knows he cannot win the medals....and, probably money maybe a factor as Olympics have no monetary rewards just prestige and honor of representing your country

  4. I can't stand Andy Roddick (I think he's a whiney cry baby who only has his serve to rely on.) but I'll try to answer this as unbiased as possible lol.

He wanted to focus on the US Open instead of the Olympics. Since these were only a week apart, a lot of players decided to do the same. Also, Andy prefers to play in the US and has the majority of his success there. So it would make sense than he play warm up tournaments in the US and then the Open.

  5. He skipped the Olympics in order to have more time and rest to prepare for the US Open. I hope he does well there :) !

  6. So that he can prepare for the US Open.
