  1. MAC systems are less prone to virus's. As well MAC has now developed the first duo quad core processor. So you get 8 processor cores. Intel is still behind with it's quad core processor. MAC's are expensive cause they are not a everyday system that people buy. Apple only makes the parts so that a draw back in  terms of parts and applications. Microsoft has more programs that are compatible with different makes and modles of systems so Microsoft products are less expensive as well the PC parts are interchangable with other PC's that [eople can custome biuld. The MAC OS is better in terms of layout, but if you are used to a Windows OS it will take you longer to get used to it. People only buy MAC books cause of the Virus problem with Microsoft computers. I have both OS's on different laptops and prefer the Microsoft package as it's a little easier to work with. But if people want a powerful laptop than they should go with the MAC book pro with the duo quad core.

  2. the statement that mac is better is an opinion and the reason for it costing so much more is because steve jobs won't let anyone have the architecture of Macs or the OS

  3. I think both systems are designed and built for different types of people.  Many will swear that Apple is better and the same with Microsoft.  I personally have both at home and although I've used Microsoft all my life, I look at it as a "work" computer while my mac is more for entertainment or graphics computer.  Some pros and negs are below.

    Microsoft

Pro: easy to use, more affordable, many competitors offering incredible bundles, more programs, repair can be cheap

Cons: Some cpu have cheap materials built in which can cause the computer to have a short term life, can get boring and repetitive, the best ones are extremely expensive, VISTA, can be bulky and unattractive

    Apple

Pros: looks, it's trendy, system is really easy to learn, extremely fun, Apple has good deals, works awesome with your IPOD/Iphone, best video/movie player ever, the screen is fantastic, comes in various models, the quality of the computers is outstanding (no cheap materials), Since it's made by apple, nothing is outsourced to a 3rd party company..

Cons: monopoly in itself, programs can be limited, very expensive, may have less features than a cpu at the same price, can be a little complicated on office tasks, limited designs

  4. It keeps the doctor away

  5. Apple OS is easier to use than Microsoft so it is popular with the non-computer literate crowd.  Apple is expensive because only Apple makes the hardware so they can charge what they want since there is no competition.  The pro of Apple OS is ease of use the con is limited applications.  Just the opposite for Microsoft OS.  Apple is still has a very low percentage of the market, so it isn't accurate to say everybody is buying Mac Books.

  6. College kids/campuses use MacBooks because it's glossy, simplistic, newage, etc. Mac Desktops are much worse than windows... on a PC you can customize just about everything, change out parts, play games, etc. Yea, it may not be as SIMPLE as Mac, but it is much better.

PC - Open. Not exactly safest route... but if you know what you're doing then sky's the limit. It's arguably simple. Customizable parts. Much better performance-wise

Mac - Closed in. Easy as h**l to use. You may not be able to be adventurous with your machine... but atleast you won't s***w it up!

So, really. PCs are actual computers. Macs are an alternitave most people choose because they like to consider themselves better then the "average pc user". Which is generally the marketing plot for Macs.
