oh, nononono. Adults with a childlike nature are said to have a flexible and positive thinking type of mind. Not all geniuses are like that, but the ones who are get to enjoy life in a different way. Albert Einstein once said that creativity is more importance than intelligence. He was somewhat childlike and often forgot where he lived, but he percieved others thoughts and different philosophies very well--also having his mathematics and logic tremendously great. Being a child is so carefree, ignorant and happy I guess. Depends on what you want to absorb. I believe childish adults are very wise.

They have avoided the usual indoctrination most of us bought into (or were forced into) as children; they can see things from perspectives most others cannot.

No, to be childlike is not a "bad" thing (unless you choose to believe it is); to be childish is.

They are considered that because they don't get the simple things that seem to connect us (in groups I should add) Things like slang, body language uh simple things that seem to be  vacant in a genius. What's trivial to a genius is simple to the average person and what's trivial to the average person is simple to a genius.

Yes, at times that saying is considered a bad thing,  It's taken more like a joke. Say like a frustrated wife who's working hard to take care of her family and feels her husband is acting like a child.

There are many ways, the saying "adult with a child like brain" can be considered. In general it's not a bad thing it just is a saying that helps understand the person better.
