Question:

Why Are People Against Hip Hop?

Idk... I'm not against it..I listen to all types of hip hop.. some of it is about stupid c**p and some of it is actually useful, but why do U think people are trying to stop artists from making hip hop?

I read this looong azz page about how some hip hop artists are against God.... yet, I hear most hip hop artists are just playing the roles of gangsters and what not. I wrote some hip hop songs myself, both sexual (not that sexual!) and decent, but I am a full believer in God... So maybe they are over analyzing hip hop artists and where hip hop originated. Thats why i am confused about whether its good or not.. I want to get to the root of this whole thing.

Who's side are u on, and why? I want some good opinions, I know u got em.

Thanks =]

  1. Ithink old skool hip hop is better than todays hip hop. all they talk about is how rich they are and all the woman they have and a bunch of stupid stuff. back the it was about the struggles of growing up in tough neighborhoods and standing up for something. i think the game s the best new rapper around.

  2. I agree that there are some decent hip hop out there but the majority is c**p. Most of the music videos are sexually centered with explicit lyrics. It seems like all of hip hop has to do with bling (money) & a.s.s. I don't see any substance in some hip hop music out there.

  3. Every rapper has their own religion.

  4. i believe most, if not all, hip hop/rap is degrading to women.

don't get me wrong, i like some hip hop, but only when it's

not about "getting some", if you know what i mean. that's

my two cents on this issue.

  5. The best way to answer this is to first point out that there is hip hop and then there is rap. Rap is a commercialized version of hip hop. Rap is what you hear when you listen to mainstream radio and MTV,BET, etc... Today Hip Hop is getting a bad name because the music industry has mislead most people into believingRap is Hip Hop. So when a lot of people say they don't like Hip Hop many of them are really talking about Rap. I myself am not a fan of Rap because it is formatted and follows a formula which is why so many rappers sound, look, and dress the same. Rap is like a copy machine gone berserk. I am a fan of Hip Hop music because it's creativity, original, and skillful.

The music industry has alot of people confusing rappers as hip hop artists.

I have a online presentation called "Hip Hop vs Rap" that I think you will enjoy and answer your questions. You find at the source below.

  6. There's a lotta misunderstanding involved.

  7. But people have been doing that since hip hop began. They said it was just a fad, that its not true music and it won't last. You have to understand there will always be naysayers and people who speak negatively on hip hop. But hip hop will ALWAYS survive and continue to thrive no matter what despite the Soulja Boys, and Lil Wayne's.

Hip hop, like any other music genre is forever changing and evolving. I don't know why people say hip hop is dead. It will never die. Think back to the 80s, if you're old enough, when we had the MC Hammers and Vanilla Ice's. They didn't kill hip hop and neither will "crunk music". It is just transitioning, that's all. But it always comes back to its original form. Just like when gangsta rap died out.

  8. Because they judge the whole genre based on what they hear on the radio

  9. OMG Hip hop is not related to religion dammit its just music.

  10. There are some decent? I could name a bunch of rappers that still care about hip-hop but you know what happens? They don;t get played because the radio wants to listen to sh*t like Weezy.

    Here's artists that still care:

    Mos Def

    Dr.Dre

    Lupe Fiasco

    Talib Kweli

    Jay-Z

    Nas

    GZA

    RZA

    Raekwon

    Ghostface Killah

    Inspectah Deck

    Mobb Deep

    Capone-N-Norgea

    Immortal Technique

    Rakim

    The Roots

    Scarface

    There's tons.

    Here's a list who doesn;t care:

    DJ Khaled

    Birdman

    Lil Wayne

    Akon

    T-Pain

    Kanye West

    Young Joc

    Young Jeezy

    Rick Ross

    Nelly

    50 Cent
