Why Are people So against God?

All God is, is Love. He loves us enough to give us a choice to whom we serve. *Free Will* If you do not believe in him like he says then you will parish. It's not him sending you to h**l, it's your own disobedience. How is this worse than other religions that say if you don't believe what they believe then they have to kill you. A lot of the reason for the deaths of Americans in Iraq is because their bible says to Kill all who oppose them. So God, loving us like he does, lets you choose for yourself but gives you fair warning what will happen if you choose wrong. Joshua 24:15 says But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve! God Bless

  1. We are not rude to the freakin atheists. What the heck is their problem? They need to relax. So whats wrong with our faith if we respect theirs? WE BELIEVE IN GOD AND WE HAVE FAITH IN GOD AND WE LOVE GOD. WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO ABOUT IT???????????

  2. I am a Catholic

I agree the bible teaches great value, The same goes with religion.

Many say they want a world without religion and start insulting the 10 commandments because it has "I am the Lord Your God". Then I also hear people say they can learn these statements without religion and the monuments,

    YOU SHALL NOT KILL

    YOU SHALL NOT STEAL

YOU SHAL HONOR YOUR MOTHER AND FATHER

    YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT AUDALTERY

BUT I DONT SEE THAT HAPPENING.

I only see violence and crimes rising as we go on. And its faith and knowing that God is watching you that keeps you from commiting sins.

Thats why I state we would have less violence if more people followed these statements instead of bashing them down.

And can say the same for anyone with a thumbs down on this messege for it is the same as bashing down those statements

    YOU SHALL NOT KILL

    YOU SHALL NOT STEAL

YOU SHAL HONOR YOUR MOTHER AND FATHER

    YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT AUDALTERY

  3. I'm sorry, but you fail.

  4. What proof do you have for this god of yours?

  5. That's not a God you're believing in then, it's a tyrannical monster.

I believe very few people are WILLFULLY disobedient.  And even if they are, eternal hellfire is such an over the top punishment that no reasonable God would do it to anyone.

Also, no one's "against" God.  They may choose to believe God doesn't exist but you can't oppose what you don't believe is there.

  6. That's lovely for you, but I do not believe in god.  I am not against the idea of other people worshipping a god- whatever makes you happy is no concern of mine.

  7. Which god are you referring to?

I personally had no experiences that would make me believe in the desert god of Abraham, but then again, I do not live in the desert.

I have seen signs of other gods though.

  8. Is there any evidence that God Doesn't exist???

I would really like to know why some people are soooo sure He is not real...

  9. I don't know.  I have seen a few people on here that claim to not believe in God but at the same time seem to have a lot of resentment and anger towards God.  Not sure why that is.

  10. You're wrong. Again.

    God is imaginary. Period.

There is ZERO evidence to suggest that such a being exists outside of the minds of his followers or in the pages of a book of bronze age mythology.

  11. i dont know anyone who is against god mizta

i know people who dont believe in god and people who do

thats not the same as being for or against soemthing

im not against your god, i just dont believe he exists

it is no where near the same thing

and to be against him i would have to believe he did exist in the first place,  i dont

i do not chose to serve him , that is my choice, as it is yours to chose to serve him, and i have no issues with your choice

why do you have any with mine?

    Additional

god gave me the disobedience so i dont see why you dont think hes responsible for that

if he didnt give me it, i wouldnt have it and i woudlnt be it

so i dont see why or how it is my own fault that your god gave me something and it affects me

same as your emotions affect you

    and mine affect me

if you have them, they affect you

and god gave you them, to be affected by

    and so you are

otherwise you are saying you are capable of never feeling

are you capable of that mizta?

    if not

then you cant honestly expect other humans to do the same thing, deny their biology and what god gave them

  12. "If you do not believe in him like he says then you will parish. It's not him sending you to h**l, it's your own disobedience."

So.. believe I'm real, or SUFFER ETERNAL DAMNATION!

Sounds like a creature that desperately cares whether or not we think he's real. Odd, don't you think? For an all-powerful deity to care what we think?

    Psh.

  13. God doesn't exist! get over it...

  14. He sounds nice. You've obviously never read the Bible.

  15. It's our sinful nature

  16. We're really not against God. We're just against people who use God as an excuse to be ignorant hateful jackasses. Oh yeah, fun fact, God created h**l.

  17. if a choice is defined as right or wrong, it's not really a choice

  18. Against? I can hardly be against something I don't believe in. My God is cool and wise. He doesn't feel such petty emotions such as jealousy and egotism. RAmen!

  19. Two quotes cover the first of three reasons I usually see....

"God exist whether or not men may choose to believe in Him. The reason why many people do not believe in God is not so much that it is intellectually impossible to believe in God, but because belief in God forces that thoughtful person to face the fact that he is accountable to such a God." - Robert A. Laidlaw

    or

"I was at this time of living, like so many Atheists or Anti-theists, in a whirl of contradictions. I maintained that God did not exist. I was also very angry with God for not existing. I was equally angry with Him for creating a world."  - C.S. Lewis

    or

Pride, too proud to look, too proud to be answerable, too proud to humble themselves, too proud of their intellect....

    1 Corinthians 1:18

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

    :-)

    God Bless

    Todd

    PS.

Henry Drummond talks about love and our relationship with God in his book "The Greatest thing in the World", I think it is a good read and here is a link where it is available for free online.

That is why we see Daniel Wallace (expert in ancient texts and early Biblical manuscripts) in an interview in the book "The Case for the Real Jesus" say "It's disturbing that when it comes to the Christian faith, people don't really want, or know how, to investigate the evidence", people talk about God, yell at God, or ignore God but will not even look.

C.S. Lewis, Alister McGrath, Lee Stroebel and many others only became Christians after looking at the evidence and most won't look for fear they might find something I think.

  20. Consider this: is it really a choice when your choice is worship or burn in h**l? If you ask me, that's coercion, not a choice.  How is it a choice if there is only one correct choice? You said so yourself: "...gives you fair warning what will happen if you choose wrong." That's LOVING to you?

You also need to realize something very important - to not believe in an accept your God is not the same thing as being "against" your God. OTher religions are against your God - not me. I dont think your God even exists...how can I harbor any ill wishes against something that doesnt exist?

  21. >All God is, is Love.

It's a nice sentiment...so it's too bad it's so flat, outright wrong. The definition of God is as follows:

    - deity: any supernatural being worshipped as controlling some part of the world or some aspect of life or who is the personification of a force

The definition of love is as follows:

    - a strong positive emotion of regard and affection

They are two very different things. Love is not supernatural, nor is it a being. It is just an emotion. Love and God are different and you can't logically equate them or form any valid argument in the context of equating them. Furthermore, love actually exists while God does not.

    >How is this worse than other religions that say if you don't believe what they believe then they have to kill you.

It isn't. But neither is it any better. Which is one of the reasons why your particular god is so unlikely to actually exist in the real world.

    >So God, loving us like he does, lets you choose for yourself but gives you fair warning

So making it look like he doesn't even exist in the first place counts as 'fair warning'?

    Not.

  22. People are so against God because all they see and hear are bible quoting Christans such as yourself.

  23. you believe in a myth that was derived from ancient sumerian and egyptian mythology--there is 0 supporting historical data for any of the major stories of the bible-=-Noah and the ark was a plagarism of the epic of gilgamesh--a sumerian story predating the hebrew story by about a thousand years--there were no ten plauges of egypt--no historical data to support any of it--the ten commandments came from the egyptian book of the dead--as soon as you get it--that the bible is full of mythical stories about mythical people.

  24. Well, no matter what people are still going to be like blah,blah,blah..........and not listen but it's okay let them do whatever because they don't even realize where they are planning to go afterlife.

  25. I'm not against god I just don't believe in it. As for your assertion that god is love but will burn us in h**l if we use our free will to not worship it. Ermm, sorry not buying, that sounds like a dysfunctional idea of love to me. =} If I had a gun and said "I now let you choose to tell me you love me and accept my gift or I blow your brains out" is that really free will or really love?

  26. Maybe because the people you have come across are Atheist.
