Why Ashley Cole will be thinking about the move to Real Madrid
It might be the off season but that does not mean that football drama has ended. In fact, with the end of the season, a new drama starts over. Many call it as the “season in the summers”.
With the season ending, the combat between teams begins with the top clubs competing against each other to obtain the best players available in the market. This year, similar cases can be reported with the hype reaching unprecedented heights. Clubs like Arsenal and Barcelona have fought over Cesc Fabregas while Real Madrid and Liverpool have scuffled for Steve Gerrard. On the other hand, another saga that has caught the attention of much the football world is the fight over Ashley Cole between Chelsea and Real Madrid.
Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has ceased to avoid claims over Chelsea’s left back Ashley Cole but Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has spoken in the past and present that there is no chance of the defender leaving the Blues. Ashley Cole on the other hand has remained quiet on the matter, not giving much of his thoughts on the issue. Here some reasons that might make him join Real Madrid:
1- Cheryl Cole, the ex-wife
Divorce is something that leaves any person devastated and Cole has been engulfed in the issue. In February, 2010, it became clear that the couple was facing problems and the issue became worse when Cheryl submitted divorce papers in May, 2010.
The divorce has troubled the star defender in his profession too as his performance went a few notches down for Chelsea but he made a comeback. However, the idea of living with her celebrity wife in London has haunted him ever since.
2- The Cashley Cole factor
The term Cashley that Arsenal fans came up with for the player has hung up with him ever since. Cole’s agent informed him about Chelsea’s offer while the player was driving. Upon hearing that Chelsea would be offering nearly double the amount of what he was getting with the Gunners, he nearly crashed his car.
However, Chelsea’s owner is pretty rich and might just give Cole a few extra pounds to keep him happy. Mourinho on the other hand is extremely aggressive to attain Cole and has been handed a large amount of money at the club so money won’t be an issue at Bernabeu either.
3- Mourinho, the Conqueror
Jose Mourinho is widely admired by the occupants of Stamford Bridge, be it fan or player. They all praise him for his accomplishments and ever since his time with Chelsea, the star coach has had an eye for Cole.
Mourinho is regarded as the man who can take the underachieving Real Madrid club to its former glory and more. The manager has been successful with all the clubs that he has been associated with and Cole will definitely think twice before refusing an offer from Real Madrid. Mourinho is also trying to acquire two other Chelsea players that are on his “dream list”. The other two players are Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba.
4- Chelsea needs the swap
This might be news for football fans but no one is taking into consideration that Chelsea are demanding a man from Bernabeu and that is the star Brazilian attacking midfielder Kaka. Chelsea simply admires the player and he would be a perfect fit in the squad especially in the position to take over the spot of the departed German player Michael Ballack.
The Blues have often said that the Brazilian would look good in a blue shirt and indeed he did at the World Cup in South Africa. It might be possible that Stamford Bridge crushes their strong hold because of this and agree to the deal.
5- The Hunter
It has been noted down from century to century that in order to be the best in the field, one has to have a desire, a thirst, a drive that leads him to greatness and Ashley Cole has been known for his competitiveness. Apart from his talent and skill, Cole’s hunger has proved to be a great asset for him and that quality makes his to act like Mourinho.
He definitely is like Mourinho in that matter, searching for glory and more trophies and with him, he will have the opportunity to acquire that. Along with Mourinho, he gets the chance of achieving the Champions League trophy which Chelsea has failed to do as yet.
