  1. Infact BSNL, according to me is the best thing available in India. There have been times when you would need to wait for 3 months after applying for it bcoz of the demand. And no other provider gives you unlimited downloads for rs750 at such fast speeds. Okay, urs might be an exception, but once you go for someother connection i.e reliance, airtel, etc. you would really come to know the value of BSNL. Try to contact them by 18004241600.

  2. I'll be frank with you. No matter how many complains you log with them, it ain't going to help. I had a BSNL Broadband earlier. It's cheap, but it's services suck. I'd advise you to go in for Airtel Broadband instead, decent speed, unlimited downloads.

    Regards

  3. I think one needs to be a little sensitive when it comes to making serious allegations or remarks. The reasons for sensitivity towards people who are trying to serve all of us:

    1. Let us put ourselves in their shoes and ask whether i would personally like people to sling such scathing remarks at me without giving a slightest thought to the words they might use against me or finding whether i was genuinely trying to serve them. Wouldn't it be unjust on their part not to consider my personal efforts to serve the public/community whether others are doing or not, but I do it?

    2. Sometime back it was published in the news papers that the other commercial companies were digging and breaking the cables of the BSNL & destroying the connections while they were laying their own.

    3. One of the persons in a remote village told me that they were unable to have BSNL broadband cable there because the PMC was not allowing them to dig along the side of the road where other Internet providers had laid their cables. But also no alternative solution was given.

    4. One night I heard out side my house some people making noise and digging along the road. Out of curiosity I went to find out. I met the people there. One in particular was supervising the digging. I asked him what was going on. He told me that he was getting the BSNL cable laid. He further told me quite sadly that during the day time the PMC would not allow them to dig and lay the cable. After that within a few weeks I had my internet connection from the same official who was supervising. Initially it did not work. I complained about it. They came, checked the phone line for the modem. it was found ok. they started the connection. Now it is running pretty smoothly. Other companies of the rich and powerful can lay the cables wihthout a hitch. I would not like to say how do they get so much courage to do that. In our own country the BSNL-Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited-has to do things like these. Isn't it a matter of concern for all of us,  the honourable and self-righteous citizens.

    5. We can pay the private companies higher amount and purchase the services. Are we ready to do the same for the nation and its employees? The money that is gathered by the BSNL is paid as the salary to the employees. The rest may be going to the Govt's coffers. But we pay a higher price to the private companies. Most of that payment goes to the owner's pockets, or to the multinationals-means to the foriegn coffers. One cannot catch them easily, or make complaints against them to the govt.Their employees (mostly needy Indians. Some time back I recieved an email saying not to order a pizza at home. Because, to deliver that pizza on the dot at your or my door step, the pizza-delivery boy literaly puts himself in danger while driving to get at a place on time. If he does not and the pizza guzzler complains a delay to the 'company' the boy's money is slashes from his earning. So, some of them even put themselves in danger to do service to you and me.) get much less & the work too is extracted to the last drop of sweat. Their services are terminated easily in short periods so that they are not permanent nor they can form a body to ask for just wages.

    6. Private companies often, not always though, do not easily reveal their main office-addresses. They direct you to the local service providers or their outlets owned by our Indians, & desperados but played into their hands for money. These blokes or should I say hulks? too are money mongers. They would not heed to your pleas until you pay the whole amount in time. Several of these multinational Banks retreive their loans with the help of real hulks who can muscle you around till you pay their money or interest or anyting. Moreover, the services may be good at the beginning. As the customer becomes little old they care two hoots to your phones, or dilydally the requests ( by experience). I don't think any govt. machinery does such thing to its citizens. Compare for example, the mobile service by BSNL & by other non-govt companies. BSNL will warn you time & again about recharging your card. But it would not severe the connection easily. But no sooner you finish your account and do not recharge than the other  mobile companies would  unhesistatingly cut you off ruthlessly.

    7. Sometimes, it is also good to review ones own method, words and the manner complainting against the system. More often than not, we are highly prejudiced against the Govt. system & employees. So, we approach them not only with our complaints but with prejudice & to a certain extent with distrust and disdain.

    8. For several works of mine I have approached the govt. officials. Often I have not been heeded to immediately. But I don't derive the natural right to condemn the whole BSNL or any other govt.section as looters, the worst or anything.

Mind you, I am not a govt. servant, have never been in my life and neither would I aspire to be the one. What I have done is to use different methods.

Sometimes being nice . Sometimes standing upto them. Someimes getting help of someone to go to the right authorities to complaint about the sluggishness.

It is also a Christian charity to thank the personnel when the work is done. Usually in India it is thought that the workers are not doing favour to us by serving us in return for their salary. So why thank them?

True. But salary does not express a word of appreciation for the service they render. It takes us humans to appreciate and acknowledge the works they do. How often do we do that?

I think such are the times when we should exercise our citizenship and demand (of coure not stalling & pillaging the offices, govet property as is the method often applied). At the same time, it is our duty too to honour our country in a small way and not to allow our hard earned money  to go to the foreign nations or to a previleged few, who have no concern for the common Indian masses.

I would suggest, to make a written complaint to the proper authority. May have to go a few times. But do that. It would demand your patience, time and energy. But it would definitely help you. Do not think of giving anything in return. Just say 'thank you'.

  4. Hi ... I have been using BSNL Broadband for the last two years and I am extremely happy with the service.

May be the area which you are in has some other problem or maybe your telephone line is very old and there are a number of joints that increase loss of data and the speed gets slow.

My overall experience is ... BSNL Broadband is THE REAL BROADBAND.

  5. well,

i dont know about ur issues. but, i applied for broadband 3 months ago, last week they said their side all done, and ask me to buy a modem and test.

Its ridiculus first day no link at all, next day all links are ok.But can not browse the net.

As i am working in IT i tried to explain them, it could be some link error between exchanges. but BSNL guys keep on blaming the modem.

My experience shows BSNL staffs are not well trained to handle internet connections. Thee have to be trained well.

They not even know whats IP address, DHCP, Default Gateway at all.

Its almost 10 days called local exchange, JTO, AE so many times. Still its not up

    :)

  6. I endorse the first answer.

  7. I think your configuration may be wrong e.g. dhcp is changing ip address every 10 mins or so and if you have configured your connection with a static ip it is going to trip and unless same ip returns you wont be able to connect.

BSNL is not so bad, You can not blame some one if you don't know whom to contact in case of emergency or requirement?

Call their help line 18004241600 and 1500 and XXXX2198 (where XXXX is first four digits of your phone number) by phone and get the things sorted out.

Things will improve if we improve our knowledge......God helps them those help themselves
