Question:

Why Can I Still Get Into My Folder When I Put A Password On It?

I put a password on a folder on the computer so that only I have access to it, but when I open it, it doesn't ask me for that password... just goes into the folder. (But it says there's a password on it.)

How do I make it so only I have access?

  1. It is possible that only you have access, but you might be on your name so the computer knows that you can access it. Try logging in as a different person and see if they prompt you for the password.

  2. you could turn the file into a .rar file and password protect it.  then you would have to enter the password whenever you open it. download a full version for free at http://thepiratebay.org/tor/3871224/WinR...

  3. I had a similar problem on my Macbook.  I had set something up to be password protected but it kept letting me in without asking for a password.  So I deleted the folder and started over.  Turns out that the first time I put in the password, there was a box that was checked below the password entry field that was set to save password.  I simply unchecked that box this time around and it has asked me for the password ever since.

    Hope this helped!
