  1. Canada has nationalized health care and the pay is controlled by the government and here it is still private until Hillary gets to the what will be called the w***e house at the end of the lane! Oh my bad, its already called that!

  2. !st answerer is absolutely right...I worked with Canadian nurses in the US. off and on for years...pay in U.S. is mush better.

  3. More money and less tax.

  4. some think that they are getting a good deal working in the states BUT they forget to factor in the malpractice insurance is WAY higher down there and that you run the risk of getting your a$$ sued off for giving someone the wrong time of day. In addition they only look at the federal tax NOT the combined tax load of state and local taxes which can be as much or more than in Canada.

Also they forget to factor in their healthcare at the facility they are working at may not cover them or their family.  My partner looked into going south of the border but when she factored in everything and some of the locations she said no thanks for our family.

  5. Taxes are much lower in the USA than Canada, so you will see more of your take home wage (most Canadians experience a 20 to 30% gain in their take home pay).

Salaries in the USA are based on the cost of living of a particular city and suburb within that city.

The lower the cost of living, the lower the wage is likely to be. If you are offered a high wage, the cost of living is probably equally as high. For example, a starting salary for a new grad nurse in San Francisco can be $35 US per hour.

  6. It's the money that makes the difference.  Salaries for nurses tend to be higher in the US.

  7. $$$$$$$
