Why Cant i see a difference between Blu ray Quality and regular dvd?

Please give me detailed instructions and hopefully the people who answer this actually have a play station 3

I am using an hdmi Cable and i dont understand? What the heck i just payed 400 plus for this? ahhh

  1. It all depends on every single item in your set-up. Are you sure your TV-set is ready for HD? I have a HD televisions with PS3 and HDMI, and the difference is definitely visible. You sort of rely on the weakest link for the quality.


  2. If you're not watching on a 1080P TV then you will not see much difference.  The PS3 should up convert standard DVD to 1080i if thats what your TV or the ps3 is set at.  Blu Ray will play at 1080P if the TV is a 1080P TV.and your ps3 is set a 1080P

  3. actually hd dvd and blu have practically the exact same quality. the only difference is that blu-ray can store wayy more then hd dvd. lol thats the only differece.

    p.s xbox 360 rocks XD

  4. If your tv is under about 50 inches it is harder to tell a difference.
