Why Crysis game is running slow in my computer??

This is my PC specs....

+AMD Athlon 64x2 dual core processor 6000+

+3.02 Ghz and 4 GB RAM

+Windows XP Service Pack 2(Original)

+PCI Express Graphics Card -- GeFORCE 8600GT + 256 MB DDR3 +

540 MHz CORE

+M2N-E SLI series Motherboard

+ViewSonic 22" 1680x1050 HD Widescreen LCD monitor screen

Inspite of these specs Crysis game on my PC is running slow when i turn the graphics setting of the game to high in 1024x768 let alone the resolution 1680x1050

Why the game is running slow??

  1. I've seen a show, can't recall the name... Someone was touting the specs of this super-ultra computer and how it has better specs than any other computer out there...

    "Yeah, but can you play Crysis on it?"


  2. Honestly I don't know if your system is really not strong enough for it (it surpassed the minimum requierements by far).

    I would suspect the huge monitor. I have an HP w2207h myself, and for some reason the videos have slight chopping in them when maximized.

    Check to see if you computer will play the game better on a small monitor.

  3. Here is your problem: GeFORCE 8600GT

    Not to belittle this respectable card but it is not very strong up against a game like Crysis; where even a blade of grass gets its own vector and physics. Even best SLI around can't max it out.
