Why DOESN'T Don Cherry make any sense?

He rips Europeans but all they do is dominate. He's in love with Sidney Crosby but Sid doesn't fight or play defense. Don Cherry is a joke!

Don Cherry doesn't make any sense because he's too busy counting his dollars.

Don is a hard nosed Canadian from working class roots. He was the original Jeff Foxworthy. Nobody should take him any more seriously than they do Foxworthy.

He has three passions. His family (including his dogs and his late wife Rose), Hockey (as it should be played) and Canada. You can't knock him for that.

His passion for Canada often blocks his vision of hockey but when asked about Swedish Hockey Player Borje Salming Don admits he was one of the best ever but of course not as good as Bobby.

Don has a job to do and that is to get people talking and paying attention to his silliness. You cant blame him for his blind patriotism...we should all be as passionate about our birth country as he is. And lets not forget he does work for CBC and hockey is the national pasttime there. Anything less from him and the Canadien press kills him. It is no different than listening to the rants on this board of each cities fans....loyalty is a beautiful thing and we should just appreciate anyones passion for their sport and team. You have to admit...no matter what Don says we all listen and if nothing else he gives us all something to ponder (or laugh about). Just check out the "suits" he wears, obviously he has a great sense of humor. Take him at face value and realize he is no different than all us fans....he loves his Canadien boys as he should. I am partial to the Euro boys (of course I am a Wings fan....wait until Lidstrom hoists the Cup and listen to Don b*tch and moan about a Euro captain....but he can take solice in a Canadien boy tending the nets instead of the Euro goaler).

Maybe Don Cherry is the smartest man alive by doing what he does. How many people talk about him, bringing more attention to himself and hockey in Canada. And no he's not in love with Sidney Crosby. He hates him and didn't mention him after game three while he was praising the Penguins.

Excuse me? Don Cherry is in love with Sidney Crosby? Is that what the analysts in Detroit are telling you? Um, not quite. Cherry loves the Pens, but certainly not Crosby. He never liked Mario or Jagr, either. Don Cherry is a joke, but so is that statement. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Don is defending Canada (as hockey is "Canada's game") and the players from Canada. Don was never a friend or proponent of foreign born playes taking jobs from good, young Canadian youths.

Remember Don is way old now and still has these feelings. I'm not sure he understands where hockey is supposedly heading still.
