  1. He was hitting .236 and it free's up some cap space so they can get a C, SS, or another star SP...

  2. I agree with The Mick. Jr. is an awesome player, but the Reds don't have a chance at the playoffs.  With God on our side The White Sox will reign again.....HURRAY!!!

  3. bcuz they want griffey to make it to the world series but he wont

  4. Obviously it wasnt b/c they wanted Nick Masset b/c he is absolutely garbage. They have been wanting to get rid of him. He has a huge contract.

  5. White Sox have a shot at getting to the World Series, and Griffey could be in the last year of his career. The Reds have no chance of getting to the playoffs. So, for possibly one last hurrah, the Reds traded Griff to the South Side.

  6. The Reds have no chance of winning a championship.  Griffey is nearing the end of his career.  The White Sox have a much better chance of winning.  Griffey wants a chance to win before he retires.  That's it in a nutshell.

  7. Griffey does not have a lot of years left in him.  And, he is not putting up the kind of numbers he once did.  It was getting harder and harder for the Reds to justify keeping him around and even though he wasn't making "huge" money a small market team like the Reds could put that money into younger players.
