  1. Shell color is genetically influenced by the mother. White is the default color caused by the calcium carbonate that makes up the shell. The other colors are pigment like skin color but casued by biliverdin and its zinc chelate for green  and blue or protoporphyrin which makes brown and is good for ground nesting birds which chickens were in the wild.

  2. They are from different chickens. The colour of the earlobe, if You like, indicates the colour of the egg. One chicken will not produce eggs of both colours. There is absolutely no difference in taste, but people tend to go for brown eggs.

  3. um. girly the eggs are from different kinds of chickens. They aren't from one chicken that lays pure white eggs.

  5. ok, well there are varieties of chickens. A brown Hen Would lay brown eggs or if the boy chicken is white, she lays white and brown. White hens lay white eggs. it's Genetics. Polka dots lay polka dot striped if the dad is that!
