  1. Just blurt it out! dont worry what the question is, they are your parents and they love you, whatever the question im sure they will be happy that you asked. i know that sometimes it might not feel like "the right time to ask the question" or to say something... but once i just say it, they give a quick answer.dont worry about it! keep strong and have courage!

trust me, youll feel much better once you get it off your chest!

  2. Maybe you fear rejection or they may think it's a stupid question.  Just come right out and say it you'll feel alot better!

  3. sometimes you just need to do. Just blurt it out to get it over with. As you start to ask more, it will be more comfortable. They are your parents i am sure that they wont hate you. They are always there for you. Just work up the courage one day and ask away. dont worry you are not alone i have the same problem.

  4. anxiety could be the reason

    maybe you're extremely shy

or it could be the questions you want to ask them

  5. That's just trial and error. The more you learn to talk to your parents, the easier it will get. BUT that does depend on the parents as well. If your parents are the type who are open with you, than just keep pushing through the nervousness and you will eventually get through it. But, if its not that easy as "just doing it" like many people will tell you, try to find a common ground. Before you can get comfortable with your parents, find something you CAN talk to them about. For example, if your mom or dad is interested in a certain TV show you both watch, or a sport, or any topic, or even about school or anything, talk to them about that stuff first. Get used to talking to them about things that are somewhat easy, then as time goes on, it will get easier and easier

But like I said, it depends on the type of parents, AND the type of questions, but as long as you work on developing and open relationship with them, it gets easier. It may take time, so if you are not patient, it probably wont ever happen.

Baby Steps... take baby steps, and you will be fine

also, if its hard to talk to your parents for now, find someone you CAN talk to, because life is tough and it makes it harder when you have no one to talk with

  6. must be some sort of anxiety problem

  7. talk to them more often. try reaching out to them as close as you can. so the next time you'd ask something, you'll feel more at ease and you'd have a higher chance of a positive response.

  8. In your past, did asking them questions lead to instantaneous rejection, yelling, or nastiness?  Your anxiety issue did not come in a day.  In your past were you often ridiculed when you tried to ask questions to teachers, mentors, other family, etc?  This may be an unconscious reaction to a dislike of being harshly rejected.  Were you yelled at very badly as a child for asking questions or told not ask questions as a child?

  9. our son has the same problem, but instead of keeping it to himself he tells me.  then we both kind of laugh about it. i guess it's just the fear of rejection the reason we get nervous before going up to someone of authority.

just remember that these two people are your PARENTS, they both had a hand in bringing you into this world.  if you can't talk to your parents who can you talk to.

don't get nervous instead be bold with your questions and you may find out a few things along the way about your parents that you otherwise did not know.  for instance they have been where you are and they can listen.

  10. well tell your mom and dad that you get nervous to ask them some things and maybe they will understand

  11. If you never ask them you won't get over your problem of being nervous, just take a breath and go for it; a bad resut is better than no result.
