Why Do I Have Such Vivid Dreams + Nightmares???

I have freakishly vivid dreams. If I dream it's snowing, I feel the cold creeping up my body. If I fall and scrape my knee, I feel the pain truly. I always have these dreams but once when I was having a sleepover with friends, I had an AMAZINGLY real dream. I felt the sun burn my back. The rocks under my feet pierced through my flesh as I ran without shoes on. It was all so real. And languages like French and Italiand and Greek where all spoken around me. It sounded so real. In my OWN dream, I don't understand the language people spoke...

To top it off, the last moment of the dream I was shot. It hurt sooo badly! I was confused when I woke up. I was sure my life was over. I lived my whole life during that dream.

I asked my friends about their dreams and they all said they didn't sleep well at all. They all felt drained. Every time I have a sleepover this happens.

What is wrong??????

Thanx :)

  1. your not alone, i have those pretty often but it feel like im falling off a building and then i wake up scared to death .

dont worry soon they will go away.

  2. You have an active imagination and a good memory.  Stress and situations in your life can bring about interesting dreams, good or bad, but your ability to actually feel what is happening to you in your dreams may reflect on how seriously you take things.  How intense things are for you in life.  If you want to stop having these dreams I would recommend meditating just before bed.  Your peacefulness then should follow you into your dream and allow you to get restful sleep.

  3. the power of christ compells you.

    -throws holy water-

  4. you just have an amazing gift. my dreams usually are events that actually happen to me. its really weird.

  5. umm u think about too many things when u sleep, when i sleep i always have bad dreams if im restless and my mind is full

  6. I've always had really vivid dreams, too.  They last forever it seems, and I can remember very clear scenes from when I was 8 or 9 years old.  They are so real, I have to make sure I distance them from reality!

I found out recently that our brains produce a drug through the Pineal Gland (it's also known as our third eye) called Dimethyltriptaline or DMT.  This is also a street drug, but luck us!  We don't need to take any because our pineal gland produces way too much of it - forcing us into some really wild dreams and imaginations!

I'm sorry you're in pain in the dreams.  I've found it helpful to tell myself (before sleeping) that I don't want to feel pain, and that I want to be able to control my dream.  This is a called a "lucid dream" and you will know you are dreaming and be able to do some amazing things.

I hope they stop scaring you and start enlightening you!  Sounds like your brain releases a LOT of DMT!

    Best to you!

  11. the beach is probabley somewhere you go alot with your friends to top it off you probly were watching a horrer movie which you probably usually do when your over with your friends!!! Dreams can also take over your sences!!!!! you probably have a good imagination

  12. if u watched alot of T.V that night that usually happens.

  13. for a while i had the same problem, but not no more.  Did you know that most people only dream in black and white?  People who dream in color have higher brain function, and people who feel, sense things (like you and me) have even higher brain function, than the average person.  Now here's some tips to coping with the vivid dreams.  Don't eat anything a few hours before bed time ( no sodas, milk, or juices either).  Stay away from people who smoke also a few hours before bed (nicotine causes people to have very vivid dreams).  When you go to bed and close your eyes, tell yourself that you're going to have pleasant dreams...  Also it helps to picture in your mind a really pleasant scenario, like somewhere you'd really love to be and would make you happy.  Also stay away from really graphic tv shows.
