Danny I see you just signed on to yahoo answers this month Welcome. You should know that question has been asked a few times before here at  yahoo answers.  Exactly as you worded it 208 times.   Far from a record though.  The question about the world ending in 2012 has been asked (last time I checked) 7,037 times.

Kamikaze pilots didn't actually wear a helmet.  It was a leather kind of scull cap that they wore that had earphones made into it similar to the snoopy cap that the Apollo astronauts wore inside those glass helmets.   Because of the noise in the cockpit and the cold air at high altitude it was good that they were at least comfortable before they went splat.

Most kamikaze pilots didn't wear helmets but a headband of the rising sun. They got the headband when they took their last drink of saka before they jumped into the plane to take off. If they did have a helmet on it was probably for the radio to keep in contact with the others in the squadron until they got close to the american ships.
