Sports - period.  People want to watch games communally with other screaming fans while being easily plied with alcohol in a manner requiring as little physical effort or strain as possible, and ESPN Zone is a relatively inexpensive venue compared to actually doing this at the ballpark.

Food is just incidental at places like this, a way to satiate a basic need while rooting for your team.

because ESPN Zone is place where both kids and adults can go to have fun. they've got lots of cool games and good food, but they also have an 21 and over section.

There are freaks in this country that have no concept of what dining is supposed to be. You could probably open a g*y bondage p**n restaurant and get plenty of business. Atmosphere is a thing of the past when it comes to " Theme " eateries ; a real pity in my opinion.
