Why Do People Have To Have A Clean Shaved Face In ordder to have a decent job?

Like I mean when I am older I really want to go for the Kerry King look (without the tatto's obliviously)

I mean I have never seen like a doctor with that kind of look.

Anyway I have never seen a polition with that look either.

Because it looks unprofessional in the way that it looks like you can't even be bothered to shave.

its respectable to have a clean shaven look for certain jobs.

it prevents the other businesses and whatnot thinking that you are a "joke" and making the company look bad. Also, it is bad for a doctor to have facial hair unless well kept up, because people wouldn't take him seriously.

Essentially it's because you want to make the best impression. Having a clean shaven face means that you are making the effort to look after yourself & keep yourself clean. This makes a good impression on possible future employers and any potential customers.

Sometimes facial hair can look a little dirty. You should usually go on interviews clean shaven. Alot of places have policies that you have to be clean shaven or already have a beard or mustache, which basically means you can't be trying to grow one while you are working there unless you grow one on a vacation or something and come back to work with it already looking well groomed.

My Dr. has a full beard and mustache, it is not long, but it doesn't look gross.

Because society is messed up and we all are made to look the same although people are very different. Its the same with the fashion industry and everything else which is regarded as 'cool'. You carry on being what you want to be and I'll support you and you'll have my respect.

Because we live in a stuck up, intolerant, judgmental world where people are such control freaks that we can't even be ourselves without being shunned from society.  This also applies to people's accents and figure of speech.  It will be judged and not tolerated somewhere.  And for those of you who say that I'm not "clean" just because of the length of my hair and beard, I bet I'm cleaner than you!  No, it doesn't stink and the fact that I don't cut it shows that I do respect myself and everyone else because I want us to be free to be ourselves.  Those of you who say that it's not respectful have been brainwashed and thus do not know what respect truly is.

Well, personally, I think it is respectful to look clean and shaven for work. If you don't shave or if you look unclean, it sort of tells others that you don't care about your work. Its just one of those things that people don't explain, and that people know....

Because long facial hair not only looks bad, it often smells bad as well, and that turns people off and offends them. Having a clean, well shaven face says that you CARE ABOUT your appearance and the way you are viewed by other people, such as your boss, for example. It's also a sign of respect, good judgement, honesty, and many other traits which employers and business people look for.

Apart from this, long facial hair, and long hair in general, is a health and safety hazard, particularly in some professions, such as construction ( it can get caught in machinery and cause serious injuries or even death) food service ( long hair carries bacteria and viruses and spreads disease around to the customers and to other employees, and it is also a hazard because it can get caught in machinery here, too) the legal profession ( long hair turns people off, and they don't hire lawyers with it) and many others, including medicine, because of the risk of spreading disease around to patients. Long hair on a politician is a sign of disrespect, dishonesty, and sloppy behavior, and it turns voters off- which is why people like Barack Obama and John McCain are both clean shaven all the time. Even Hilary Clinton does not have long hair on her head, for the same reason.

What country are you from? Is long hair fashionable where you are from, and if so, why?? Just curious.

plus it looks trashy facial should be kept short and clean. hair like that in the pic is  seen as someone who could careless about looking proper.

why would i want to hire someone who looks like that to run my fortune 500 business
