Question:

Why Do People Love Red Lobster So Much?

My wife loves Red Lobster. The one in my town shut down so I now have to drive 40 miles to get to one. Luckily this only happens every 3 months. She needs her fix and it drives me insane. I think the food is terrible. It is a glorified fast food joint in my opinion.

  1. I LOVE THIER SALAD AND BUISCUITS AND SMOOTHIES!! =]

  2. It's their unlimited cheese garlic biscuits. I think their food is awful too. Now I make my own biscuits and serve them with a really good meal and for a lot less money. If she only likes the biscuits, here's the recipe. They are really easy to make. I included a really good shrimp recipe too, enjoy!

    Red Lobster Cheese Garlic Biscuits

2 cups baking mix (like Bisquick)

    1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

    2/3 cup milk

1/4 cup margarine or butter, melted

    1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Preheat oven to 450.  Mix Baking mix, milk, and cheese until soft dough

forms; beat vigorously for 30 seconds.  Drop dough by spoonfuls onto

ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.

Mix melted margarine and garlic powder and brush over warm biscuits

before removing from the cookie sheet.  Makes 10-12 biscuits.

Spicy Cajun Grilled Shrimp, Fish, Pork, or Chicken

1/3 cup soy sauce or Kikoman Teriyaki Marinade

    ½ cup virgin olive oil

1 to 5 tbs cajun seasoning mix (without salt), depending on how hot you like it

    ¼ cup sesame oil

    ¼ cup fresh lemon juice

    2 tbs fresh ginger

    2 tsp dry mustard

    2 tsp tabasco

32 large fresh uncooked shrimp (no shells, with or without tails and de-veined)

Bamboo skewers (1 for about 5 shrimp)

Add shrimp to marinade for 20-30 minutes. Soak skewers in water. When shrimp is ready put on skewers and barbeque on high heat for about 2 minutes per side.

This is an excellent marinade for fish and chicken, you can cook whole and omit the skewers and grill or make kabobs.

  3. I ate there once and it was the worst food I ever ate. I don't know why people don't go buy their own lobster and cook it themselves.

  4. I don't.  Like you I think it's just fast food sea food.  The biscuits are the only good thing, everything else is oily.

  5. its the biscuits that do it for me : )

  6. its their marketing, the commercials look so good but the food sucks, and is like pre-portioned, frozen TV dinners. why don't you try to make at home what you wife likes so much, its would be better and cheaper. or just tell her to go with a friend if you cant stand it.

  7. People in the US love places like Red Lobster..and Olive Garden, TGI Fridays, Macaroni Grill, Applebee's...I think they suck too. MOSTLY because they serve the most FATTENING food you can find. Tell your wife that you guys can just eat seafood that is way better at home!

  8. First off, Kalokeri whatever your name is...don't assume so much about AMERICANS.

People like those places because they don't know any better!!

  9. Whatever it is that your wife likes so much, go to www.copykat.com and see if you can find the recipe.  Make the biscuits at home. They are easy. They are actually on the back of the Bisquick box.  Yummy!! That is the only thing I really like at Red Lobster

  10. We went once, and weren't impressed - so we'll never go back.  Surely, there must be a good seafood restaurant closer to you?   If you ask in the Travel, USA, Dining - and closest city to you, maybe someone can suggest a good seafood restaurant.......

  11. I'm not a huge fan of them either.  The hubby and the kids love the biscuits.  I can take it or leave it.
