Why Do People Think that Race is a Physical Thing When it Isn't???

I'm so tired of people being uneducated about race. People actually rely on their eyes on what a person's race is. If someone does that they are most likely going to get a person's race wrong. I have seen many biracial people that physically look more of one race over the other when they are actually both! My cousin is white and asian she looks straight up asian. You would never even think that she is part white just by looking at her. Just because she looks more asian than white does that make her less white? h**l no it doesn't! I have a friend that is black and white and he looks more white than black, the only black thing about him is that he has dark hair and eyes, most people mistake him for Italian. Does that make him less black? h**l no it doesn't! That girl from High School Musical, Vanessa Hudgens is white and asian, but comes out looking hispanic. Just because she looks hispanic does that mean she's not white and asian? h**l no! Race is more than physical apperance!!!

Your right and wrong.  When human remains are found, experts can usually tell what race a person is.  I have only 1/25 Native American in me but I look in the mirror and I see it.  Italians do have African in them because they are close to Africa.  Hispanics have Native American in them and Native American come from an Asian people.  Neanderthal skin color has not been determined yet but their bones can be determined as belonging to them.  It is physical but that's not to say that you can know what a person is going to look like.

I think you'll find that some narrow minded people associate race with colour and appearance .. ridiculous? yes of course it is .. and anyway who gives a d**n about someones race, colour, religion, ethnicity or politics .. just like people for who and what they are to you .. personally I have more important things to think about than what colour, race, ethnicity etc., my friends are .. they range from Asian, European, African and Hamitic .. I don't have any Inuit, but then they don't come to Australia often .. me? I'm a mixture of French, English, Irish, Scandinavian but, unfortunately no Italian - oh how they cook and love - so there

there are only 3 races in the world

a)caucasian and these include all biological types from the Indian mainland west, to Europe (and the white settlers who colonised the US, etc)

b)mongoloid, Chinese, Japanese today

c)*******, black Africans

there is thus little link between what some call racism and biology - people are afraid of others culture, not jut colour. Racism is cruel, illogical and immoral

People fear what they do not know so instead of trying to understand anothers culture, they reject it, make all people of one physical apprearance stereotyped and this displays their ignorance - we are all the same inside and there are good and bad types in every culture = if we study the DNA of most of the world we will discover that we are all mixed anyway.  Racism should not be used to bully

Physical descriptions are useful to police whether they're accurate or not.

"The only way you'll truly know a person's race is by getting a DNA test" -- we're not interested in wasting our time with such procedures. if you need to know, fine. you do the testing.

fact is, race is a physical characteristic. so what if some people get it wrong sometimes, especially in mixed cases.
