Why Do People Upload Distressing 911 Audio On To YouTube?

Browsing youtube I am totally disgusted and appalled to see that people are posting audio clips of victims phoning 911 in distress such as the father murdering his daughter. Firstly where do people get them from and secondly what type of sicko uploads them?

Out of respect for the tragic victims I won't post any links as they are too distressing to be propagated.

Unfortunately there are a lot of sick people in the world that take great delight in other people's misery. What pleasure they gain from it no-one will ever know. It's a sick world we live in Shambo. x

What can you do. The owner of youtube should do something. They should be banned.

I don't know how they get them, but it's appalling.

There can be no reason for this type of call being released to public other than for people's nosiness - it's the same compulsion as that which causes crashes on motorways when people slow down to gawk at car crashes and don't look where they're going.

But youtube are pathetic like that. I've complained countless times about videos of dogfighting, and animal abuse, but al i get is the same bull about how "banning this type of video would amount to censorship, and we believe that censorship is wrong..."

Absolute rubbish - there are instances when censorship is appropriate, such as videos which depict criminal activity (and even promote it), as well as those which disregard the loss of life and cause distress to victims of crime - such as those you're describing.

Youtube need to start giving a d**n and stop hiding behind their pathetic PR statements.

Surely that kind of thing would be covered by privacy laws? If it's 911 it's America so maybe its a free for all over there.

It's a gross invasion of privacy and the @rses who post them have not one shred of decency. I bet the number of views was off the scale though...there are many,many people who feast on such things.

Yes Sir, I used to browse Youtube and it was great but now, I don't go anywhere near it.  I am just too scared or seeing something deeply disturbing like people being beaten up, animals being abused and what you refer to.  It's despicable and it's really disturbing to think that there are people out there that think it's to upload such material.

Your question surprised me. I recall you decrying the alcohol ban on London Underground as a further attack on personal freedoms and now you're complaining about people posting on You Tube. If you don't like it, don't click on it.
