  1. Most music is released as singles or basically what record companies want to try to sell as the next song that everyone wants to hear on the IPOD or wanting to buy. Radio stations play those singles to be safe as some people can't stand a lot of variety such as playing album cuts (only one doing it today is AAA format or small home town stations)

Some cd cuts are played but usually it's what's safe is played as it builds a following compared to many songs.

  2. such a good question...this is why i really don't like the radio...you hear the same stuff over and over...i think they just play the most popular songs because this stuff sells...maybe....but i have no clue.

  3. Not all stations do that,my station only plays 60,70,80's country music.....George

  4. that's why i don't listen to the radio... unfortunately i have to at work though.

i'm so tired of hearing the same rotation of about 5 or 6 songs on EVERY freaking station. if i hear colbie callait one more time i'm going to PUKE!!

  5. It's all up to the record companies. They pretty much decide what single they want to promote and push it to the radio stations, who play it as many times as they wish to establish familiarity.

If you want non-charting independent music, stick to community or non-commercial radio.
