Why Do You Ask?

Why do people ask questions that can be found on the internet? Why not just google the question or topic you are wondering about?? Most people just search and qoute the net anyway??

Please, put some thought in your answer and don't answer some dumb bull, i.e. "ummm, because we do"

Sometimes I can't find it on the 'net, so I ask here. Or if it's a question who's answer is an opinion. But usually, I'm just bored when I ask a question.

Sometime people just want to hear others' point of view without all the "intellegent" sources. It's good to find information by google, but it's also fun to hear from people of the "now" and not something written 2 weeks ago. Just a matter of preference :)

In the case of history posts it's usually kids who are too lazy to look up the answers online so they post the questions and want others to give them the answers while they spend their time watching TV or playing video games instead of doing their own homework.

Sometimes people have an idea of the answer already and are looking for other people's opinions.

sometimes I can't find the answer I'm looking for. But I agree with you, sometimes people ask, well, stupid questions on YA.

Honestly the only reasons I can think of for someone asking simple questions, like yours, is that they are too lazy to find the answer, or they are just that bored.

For common sense answers - for the collective wisdom of a large group of people.

I've noticed the same behavior and feel those askers are seeking some type of special attention to help them build up their sense of confidence or competence.  It's like, "here I am readers!! Bring your information to momma!!"  Many times the tone of their questions reveals their motives, fears, and attitudes.  Especially with the obvious-youthful askers, I try to overlook their attitudes and give the honest answers anyway.

alot of people look it up but dont find the answer they want specifically. like o i dont know.. maybe how to do something in a video game. but you dont want a over view of the whole game. or something was missed in the review.

perfect example:

i wanted to know if you can keep steve's cars and also deliever them in grand theft auto 4.

i looked all over but couldnt find it

all i found was how to finish steves car theft missions and where to find the cars

Some people are lazy, some are bored and others may search but they still don't find the answer, whereas other people may search a little differently and find the answer.

Some questions are a little dumb but for those questions it's obvious that they are probably just bored and a little addicted to Yahoo! Answers. :)
