  1. Warm / hot water produces more lather which means more cleaning. Further washing with warm water will be comfortable for hands.

  2. A lot of things dissolve better in hot water than in cold: grease, starch, and residue from vegetable and fruit stains, for instance. Detergent also works better in hot water than in cold, although I can't give you the scientific reason (there is one, I just don't know it myself).

Oh, and to the person who says dishes can't be sanitized because they aren't boiled: you don't need to boil things to sanitize them. Most microbes are killed at above 140F, which is well within the temperature range of modern dishwashers. This is a real boon for seniors, cancer patients, and others whose immune systems aren't in top shape. You and I may be able to shake these things off: they can't.

  3. Do it then.  It becomes a miserable job.   Hot water melts of the grease (from meats and oily fatty foods)  Cold wat just makes it all hard like block butter.  It takes longer to get clean(more elbow grease needed from the washer.  Besides when else are you going to "wash your hands?"

Dishwasher heck I use straight hot water out of the tap(it is touch and go in the beginning at 160 degrees but you get use to it)

  4. The hotter the water, the better chance to kill germs with the water and soap.  It also helps dissolve grease, etc.

  5. to remove any residue and or germs.

  6. warm water help with grease
