Why Do so many young girls wear makeup?

All I do is wear a little clear/light pink lip gloss and i take a brow styling gel from maybelline and when it compleatly empty then i style my eyelashes with it it works like mascara but does not make ur skin irrateted and it doesn't make u break out. and im 13.

You are doing it exactly right. I didn't really start wearing makeup until I was  17 or 18.

little makeup = no difference, dont bother

obvious makeup = stupid looking.

mascara = always stupid, no exceptions

the only reason girls wear makeup at all is because somehow the corporate media completely hijacked womens psyche in the fifties and  created a truly amazingly high amount of women who feel uncomfortable without makeup.

but i am just an internet guy and my opinions do not reflect those of the masses, because they are better.

Yeah, you shouldn't wear too much makeup because the girls that do now won't be able to go without it. When I see someone without makeup who usually wears a lot, they look weird to me.

I don't wear makeup unless its a huge occasion.  

Buy yea I think you wear makeup smart and don't over do it. It really pisses me off when really really young girls put on a TON of makeup.

You wear makeup. I wear makeup. Just lipgloss and mascara.

12-13 yr old girls don't put on foundation, concealer, I haven't seen them do that. So what are you crying about? wearing makeup is like expressing yourself, through your makeup, and we just love makeup, and try different things with it, if you know how to use it and make it look natural then good for you, there is nothing wrong with  that.

Putting on foundation and all that stuff is when your an adult and much older. there is nothing wrong with mascara and lipgloss.

Im 22 and I still dont wear makeup. We all have natural beauty. But, I think the reason why so many young girls wear so much makeup is because they are insecure about their natural selves and are craving attention.

I will say i'm really impressed with you, most 13 y/o girls are wearing make up and they look like street walkers. I started wearing make up when i was about 15. First it started with just wearing blush and now it's progressed to eye make up. I don't wear my eye make up heavy, and i don't really need to wear foundation because i don't get zits very often. What gives your face a nice affect though is putting vaseline on or baby oil. I hate it when girls wear make up and it looks like it's caked on.

i see makeup as another chance to express myself, not hide myself from other people, actually. I love makeup, i like to play around with it. I mean, at your age i wouldn't do like, bright blue eyeshadow to school every single day, but once in a while its fun to just do something crazy. :)
