My son has 2 different babysitters, it seems that each and everytime my son goes over one of there houses, he comes home looking 10 shades darker than me. I apply sunscreen lotion on his body before me leaves home, and I pack extra Sunscreen lotion in his backpack. I'm not complaining about his complexion because he's a beautiful child no matter what but will his color come back. For example, my son & I are nearly the complexion of Halle Berry, now he's as dark as Denzel Washington... does that sound normal? The last time I tanned that dark was when I spent possibly 5-6 hours a day on my 4 day vacation in the Bahamas, but after a few months, my color came back? The 1st babysitter "claim" she doesn't leave my son outside for hours!! I think she's lying because my son always come home looking like God knows what! Why do toddlers tan so fast & easy?

  1. Hes an orange!

  2. It is just his genetic response to tan easily. His skin pigmentation is what it is and no, there is no way to change that. I bet he's a really handsome child. He may lighten some in the wintertime but it's SO hard to tell what a child is going to do without knowing what his father's skin tone is like, and those of his grandparents and ancestors.

  3. I had my 20-month-old daughter outside in the pool yesterday for not even an hour and my husband commented on how tan she had gotten. He asked if I put suntan lotion on her -- of course I did. It does seem like little kids tan pretty quickly, but who knows.

  4. my little brother also goes really dark really quickly, dont worry tis normal, i think its mainly because they spend alot of time in the water and playing about, the water reflects the suns rays causeing you to tan faster, i wouldnt worry about it if were u, i think tis pretty normal!

  5. It can be natural to tan in even a small amount of time in the sun.

  6. If a person is darker= more melanin= tans faster =)

  7. thats like me, i tan so easily even when i put on suncream, but it goes away during winter

  8. because god wants him to look s**y

  9. Younger children have higher concentration of melanin. This is a skin pigment that reacts to UV light making the pigment take a darker colour - tanning. Small children are always more vulnerable to the sun because of their high concentrations this, which is why its important to slap on the cream to prevent burning! The melanin pigments in younger children are also far more photosensitive than they ever will be in later life! This basically means, that you son won't tan as easily as he gets older.

    Hope this helps
