Question:

Why Does My Bed Shake at Night?

Hi,

I have asked this question before, but it has recently been happening more often. Here's what is happening... I'll be lying in bed at night starting to fall asleep and my bed will begin to shake back and forth. I have no doubt in my mind that the bed truly is shaking, as there is absolutely no other explanation. I certainly did have my doubts before, but I checked all the earthquake charts and I am completly concious as this is happening. Now lately, the shaking has been getting more intense. About a week ago I could swear that I felt something touch my shoulder and pull me onto my back (I was lying on my side.) Last night it happened again and I felt something VERY forceful grab my shoulder and flip me over. My whole body went rigid, and the bed began to shake very violently. I have considered the possibility that this is something paranormal, so I said "Please Stop!" as it was happening. Sure enough, the shaking stopped right away.

What's going on here? Is it paranormal???

  1. Yes, it is paranormal! Call some experts in and vidoe tape the experience if you can.

  2. check into a mental institution

  3. That is d**n freaky. Maybe you should sleep with the light on. See if you can figure out what it is. Otherwise call an exorcist.

  4. Call an exorcist, this sounds like a demon. First call some paranormal investigators to determine what this is. If its a demon then ask if they do exorcisms, or if they know someone who can. These are very serious and should be taken seriously.

  5. Since both you and your grandmother are experiencing the same thing, that does come across as odd.

What floor are the bedrooms on?

Is there a basement right under your rooms?

Are your rooms right over the furnace?

Do you live in a busy apartment building and maybe a lot of foot traffic is causing the shaking?

Just as an experiment, why not fill a few glasses with about 1 cup of buttermilk and place around the house and it your rooms.

If the shaking seems to occur all over the house, you'd know it by the streaking of the buttermilk against the glass.

If it only happens in the bedrooms, why not set up voice recording devices and see if you can't pick up anything?

And do some research on the home and the previous occupants.

  6. Whats below your bed ?

something might be trapped down there and is being polite to warn you gradually to move aside

  7. Sounds like a ghost is trying to get your attention, you ignore it, it tries harder. Since it stopped when you asked it to, it doesn't sound like it's trying to harm you, just getting frustrated.

Maybe you should try talking to it, but I don't really have experience with this, so you might want to call your local paranormal team or priest.

  8. umm maybe your house is haunted call up a priest to bless your house or call that show a haunting [i love that show]

  9. You could try putting some salt in the four corners of the room and burning some sage leaves and blowing the smoke in the room to purify it ...and pray for protection "Anything that is sent to me, if it is not for my highest good, be it returned to the sender"....

  10. If your Grandmother is experiencing the same thing its probably an earth tremor or a truck driving past. Everytime it happens , write it down. Note the time, the sounds , everything. You will be able to find out the cause that way :) Always rule out the normal before jumping to a paranormal conclusion!

  11. maybe its in ur head and your shaking and u think u feel being grabbed when its just in your head

sleep with your mom or smthing lol

  12. Time to break out the Ouija board...or call an exorcist.

  13. You didn't say, but are you alone in bed?

  14. is your granny's name linda blair    or it might be the d***o u forgot to turn off

  15. I believe you. The bed didn't shake..but my son was raised up off the bed. I had to push him back down..and I had to push hard. Sounds like you have a spirit there with you. But ,since it quit when you said Please Stop...maybe if you tell it to go away it will obey you then too. I'm not sure I could sleep in that bed or that room. Don't you have another room you can sleep in?

  16. It sounds like you're having a recurring dream as you fall asleep, a dream where you think you're being shaken. I would wonder if you really are conscious when this is happening, or if your dream is vivid enough that you remember it as a real event instead of what it is. In any case, an easy to way to verify this is to set a video camera recording when you go to bed. If the shaking happens again, view the recording and see if you can see it happening.

  17. YEP!!

congrats!! you have a ghost stalking you!!!

Call the Paranormal State people and get on TV!!!

  18. When I saw this question, two things instantly came to my mind: a water bed or that kind they advertise on TV which is equipped with electronic device that can give you a therapeutic body massage. I'm not discounting the possibility of a paranormal phenomenon and it is not my intention to raise an argument or something. It's just that my own personal belief is that spirits do not have the ability to make things move, float on air, or fly. If spirits can go through solid walls or any other similar surface, it means that they do not have the ability to physically interact with anything that is of worldy origin.

  19. You might need to go a little easy on the meds.

  20. I don't know. Do some research! That is pretty bizarre and unsettling if it really happened!

  21. I think you must be epileptic.

Why invoke a ghost to explain your seizures?

  22. Next time say "Please stop shaking me and give me a back rub!"

  23. you and your grandmother are both having this happen to you? sounds ominous. protect yourself. burn some white sage, put a bay leaf in each corner of the room, if that doesn't work pour a ring of salt around your grandmother's bed and your own. good luck.

  24. That's creepy... if it is in fact some kind of paranormal activity, perhaps try and connect with it.  It seems as though it's trying to reach out to you.

Have someone else sleep in the bed either on their own, or with you, and see if they have the same experience.
