Question:

Why Does Our Quaker Parrot Want To p**p On Me?

We have a Quaker, he is 9 years old. He wants to fly over to my shoulder and poops. He doesn't do this with anyone eles.

He will fly back to his cage to do his business except with me.

He is the sweetest bird and has an amazing vocabulary. He knows as soon as he poops on my shoulder, he will get a No! No! No Bird! Then he flys back to his cage?

Any ideas why he does this as soon as he gets on my shoulder?

  1. my quaker does the same thing to my dad! just don't let him on your shoulder!  right now ours is chatting away on the top of his kennel (we have dogs so us and him got used to calling the cage that) they are so funny!

  2. maybe to p**s u off.. haha

yeah their the sweetest birds i have 2 a female and a male.. and sometimes they tend to pop anywhere because their scared.

  3. He is getting a reaction from you, when he does it in stead of saying NO NO NO bird, say NOTHING and just put him back on his cage, if you want to hold him have him step up and then hold him above his cage when he does p**p tell him good boy, but the more of a reaction a bird gets from ANY behavior the more they will do that behavior be it good or bad. I own a Quaker and a few other birds and they like to get a riase out of people, they are very smart~~So say NOTHING and put him back, when you want to hold him say step up and then wait he will p**p then when he does tell him good boy and then love him.
