Why Does Star 69 Never Work For Me?

For the past two weeks, some creep has been calling our house and hanging up 3-10 times per day. I've attempted to use *69 but I always get a busy signal. Why? Am I doing something wrong? I always have trouble using *69 before this with the same results.

YOur Star 69 is not working because is using a Block number or he/she is dialing *67before  dialing your number...That will prevent from tracing the number

There is a number that you can dial and block the Annonymos calls or block numbers...on your phone line...but they are different for every telephone company..

So call your telephone provider and ask for those features...they are likely free of charge.

The person block their number that is why you cant get through.

try using *77 ACR from now on...turn the tables on him....!

if he calls using *67 then his call will not get thru !!!

There are several reasons that keep *69 from working. Of course, if they block their number is one of them. Also, if they are out of your calling area, or many toll call areas, or in a different area code, it also will not work. As for the feature 'Anonymous Call Rejection', (ACR) it only blocks numbers that do not show their caller ID, such as using *67. You MUST have 'Caller ID' service for this to work. (I don't find it that good, as I use it and STILL get calls that say 'Out of AREA',  or 'PRIVATE'.) *77 to activate, *87 to turn it off. The best way to stop all these annoying calls is a device called 'Call Manager' from Privacy Corps.. You can block ANY number, block ALL 800 numbers, (or ANY block of numbers), it will ALSO stop 'Private' and 'Out of Area' calls. (When placed in 'Simple' mode.)
