Question:

Why Does my PS3 controller disconnect on it's own?

My controller disconnects on it's own while playing a game. I am only about 15 feet away, the battery is charged and since it's been doing this for awhile, I bought a brand new Duelshock controller, and it now does the same thing that me 2 SixAxis controllers did. I have even tried the reset button on the controller. I tried to email Sony about the problem, but their response was to check the website, which has no answers for this problem. I have the 60 gig version, and do not want to trade it in for one of the other versions. Any help would be great.

  1. if you have a warranty give it back and get another or go to the sony store bring you ps3 along and ask your concerns i suggest you buy a wireless and if it still disconnects meet sony or contact me

  2. this happens when you try to hook up an additional blue tooth device. so maybe it happens when you hook up a keyboard or headset?

if it just happens randomly as you play then you have a problem just call Sony if you have a warranty they will get you your 60gb back but it may take time

  3. Phone sony and demand service and tell them the site has no answers. if that fails........................... um................... try.....moving your ps3 to a more open area?

i really dont know if sony fails.

  4. You could try updating your PS3 to the latest version. I heard that the old FW didn't work properly at first. I never had this problem with mine, probably because I updated as soon as I bought it.
